Abstract. Prayoga GI, Henri, Mustikarini ED, Anggyansyah. 2022. Diversity and morphological relationship of orchid species (Orchidaceae) in Bangka Island, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 23: 5323-5332. The population plants has suffered extinction due to the conversion forest land functions. Efforts preserve orchids can be carried out through exploration, identification conservation activities. information are useful for resource management, conservation, hybridization, genetic improvement orchids. This research was determine diversity on Island based characters. conducted four districts namely Central Bangka, West South Bangka. method used is a survey with convenience sampling technique. Observed data were analyzed descriptively calculated index, evenness richness relationship. Analysis done using UPGMA (Unweighted Pair Group Method Arithmetic Mean). results study found 17 i.e. Bulbophyllum subumbellatum, Podochilus microphyllus, Crepidium calophyllum, Phalaenopsis cornu-cervi, Cymbidium finlaysonianum, Malaxix kobi. District 10 species, sumatrana, Liparis rhombea, sp., Robiquieta spathulata, Trichotosia velutina, Micropera collosa, Dendrobium aloifolium, Grammatophyllum speciosium, Adenoncos major. Exploration only same Acriopsis javanica. have moderate diversity, high low index. characters 60% similarities which divided into 9 clusters. Prevention reduction by situ ex-situ methods. In addition, future development orchids, crosses between that unique distant relationships also produce commercial purposes.

Baseline reef health surveys at Bangka Island (North Sulawesi, Indonesia) reveal new threats

Worldwide coral reef decline appears to be accompanied by an increase in the spread of hard coral diseases. However, whether this is the result of increased direct and indirect human disturbances and/or an increase in natural stresses remains poorly understood. The provision of baseline surveys for monitoring coral health status lays the foundations to assess the effects of any such anthropogen...

Molecular diversity of Symbiodinium spp. within six coral species in Larak Island, the Persian Gulf

Reef-building coral harbor communities of photosynthetic taxa of the genus Symbiodinium (zooxanthellae). The genus Symbiodinium is currently classified into nine genetic clades (A–I). Various corals harbor different Symbiodinium clades; some show specificity to a single strain. Coral and their zooxanthellae are sensitive to environmental stresses. In the Persian Gulf, coral reefs are subject to...
